Parish Councils have the power to convene committees under section 103 of the Local Government Act. Hesket Parish Council currently has the following committees:
Finance Committee
This committee convenes to discuss matters related to budgeting and finance, and meets as required. These meeting will normally be open to members of the public and press, except in circumstances of commercial sensitivity when they may be excluded in accordance with section 1 (2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960. The committee has no delegated powers, and operates according to its terms of reference, reporting back to Full Council.

Staffing Committee
This committee convenes to discuss staffing matters. The public and press may not be admitted to these meetings in accordance with section 1 (2) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.
